Open Archives for National Lottery Open Week

12-5pm
See what’s happening behind the scenes in the Birmingham Media Archive from 12-5pm on Saturday 7 March as part of the National Lottery Open Week.
Since December we have been working on setting up an audiovisual digitisation station designed to handle legacy video formats U-matic, Betacam, and VHS. On the 7th, we’re inviting you to bring along any of your own old tapes that you’d like to see preserved and have a go at the digitisation process yourself!
It will also be a great chance to take a look through some of our archive holdings! The BMAP team will be there to show you around, chat about what we’ve been up to so far, and answer any questions you have about the project.
Free refreshments will be provided on the day – at a safe distance from the archives!
BMAP is supported by the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
