On the first Friday of every month, Vivid Projects and BRIG Café come together to create a space where art, ideas, and community meet.

At Vivid Projects’ Lab, artists and producers explore new processes, share ideas, and develop fresh creative work. With mentoring, digital tools, archives, performance and a spirit of collaboration, Vivid Projects supports under-represented voices and makes space for experimentation to thrive.

At BRIG Café, creativity meets community activism in a warm, welcoming setting. By day it’s a cosy spot for food, coffee, and conversation; by night it transforms into an intimate venue for live music, spoken word, and cultural events.

Throughout 2025 Vivid Projects and BRIG Cafe are partnering for Digbeth First Fridays: a chance to experience new art, performances, and conversations in a relaxed, welcoming environment. So far we’ve explored 80s Handsworth, live mixed film archives, explored the invisible interactions of digital devices and in August, presented an unforgettable evening of algorithmic + generative performances with the (Algo | Afro) Futures artists! 

Whether you’re dropping in for an exhibition, staying for the music, or just curious to connect with others, Digbeth First Fridays are an open invitation to be inspired and take part.
