BMAP: The Materialities Montage Mixer with Gary Stewart

PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES. NEW DATE TBC
Gary Stewart brings the Materialities Montage Mixer to the Pixel Studio at Birmingham Museum and & Art Gallery for the final weekend of the archive project exhibition. The mixer is a digital tool for re-working and re-appropriating images and sound. On 27th, Gary will engage with visitors to create an audiovisual mix live in the studio. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out the mixer themselves, adding their own images and sounds to the live mix!
The session is free and no special skills required – just turn up and enjoy the mix.
The Materialities Montage Mixer was originally created for the landmark 2007 retrospective, The Ghosts of Songs – A Retrospective of the Black Audio Film Collective curated and produced by The Otolith Group for FACT, Arnolfini, Whitechapel and Iniva.
Drop in to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery from 2-4pm on Saturday 27 June to take part.
The Birmingham Media Archive Project is delivered by Vivid Projects, funded with the support of the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery funding
