We’re pleased to be hosting a watch party in our project space as part of the seventh annual Small File Media Festival!

Join us in the Birmingham Friends of The Earth Warehouse this Digbeth First Friday and discover hundreds of very small films from across the world.

We are teaming up with Small File Media Festival and Birmingham Friends of The Earth to host a watch party of radically tiny films, many small enough to fit on a floppy disk. The smallness is the point: it’s a stand against streaming’s growing carbon footprint, and a celebration of how strange and beautiful compressed, low-bandwidth moving images can be. There’s something for everyone: animations, narratives, horror films, experimental films, music videos, and more.

A curated selection of six programmes chosen from over 400 entries to an open call will be available to watch free from 6-9pm ..  and there’s more. Activities including DIY tshirt printing will continue in BRIG cafe until 10pm to support The Warehouse, our vital community hub.

We hope to see you there!

This screening is happening in conjunction with the Online Edition of the 7th annual Small Files Media Festival.

Can’t make it? All 85 films from this year’s festival stream on-demand at SMALLFILE.TV from anywhere in the world, in glorious low-res, October 31–November 7. Purchase your pay-what-you-can online festival pass here.
