ways towards something at The Exchange X Barber LATES: Art, science and the natural world

A free evening of interactive art, conversation, and creativity hosted at The Exchange in collaboration with the Barber and Vivid Projects.
Inspired by René Magritte’s surrealist painting The Flavour of Tears, which challenges our perceptions of nature and the world around us, this event showcases creative responses to the artwork from collective ways towards something, who have been supported by Vivid Lab.
Discover groundbreaking research from University of Birmingham academics tackling the challenges of our natural environment, presenting new takes on this artwork and take part in interactive explorations of their work. MA Arts and Education students from Birmingham City University will respond to environmental and metamorphic qualities in Magritte’s work through a drop-in collage party. Refreshments will also be available to purchase on the evening.
